ChatShield Protection

All family members who require ChatShield protection must be registered with the NetIDme Identity Verification Service. Once you have successfully installed ChatShield, each Window Live Messenger user who attempts to sign-in to their account will be automatically checked against the secure NetIDme verification service.

If the family member does not already have an account with NetIDme, they will be directed to a secure registration page online. Most people who are over 18 can be verified in real-time online. People under 18 must complete the online registration with a parent or guardian present. An application form will then be posted to their parent or guardian's home address. The form must be completed by both the applicant and the parent/guardian, and the details must also be confirmed by a professional person, who knows the applicant well, but who is not a family member (i.e. Teacher, Tutor, Doctor, Lawyer).

You can add, delete, or change the ChatShield settings for all Windows Live Messenger users at any time. Simply right click on the ChatShield icon in your system tray to access the password-protected options menu.
